Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Jiaxi Zhang is a doctoral student in the Counselling Psychology program at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) at the University of Toronto. She holds a Master of Arts in Guidance and Counselling from Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Registered as a Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the CRPO, she has extensive professional training across university, community service, and private practice settings. Her practice is deeply rooted in cultural humility, trauma-informed care, and a commitment to understanding how personal, cultural, and societal factors intersect to impact psychological well-being.
Utilizing a warm, safe, and collaborative approach, Jiaxi supports adults (18+) in navigating the complexities of identity, life transitions, and interpersonal challenges. She draws on multiple therapeutic modalities, including Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills, to co-create a non-judgmental “emotional container.” By blending these evidence-based techniques, she helps individuals gain insight into the root causes of their concerns while building practical tools for emotional regulation and resilience.
Viewed as a “fellow traveller,” Jiaxi walks alongside her clients to help them move toward a journey of authenticity, self-compassion, and personal growth. She provides services in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese.
