Jiaxi Zhang is a counselling psychology practicum student who is committed to supporting individuals on their journey towards healing and personal growth. Currently, she is pursuing a doctoral degree in Counselling Psychology at University of Toronto OISE. Drawing from her training in cognitive-behavioral therapy, emotion-focused therapy, solution focused therapy, and family therapy, Jiaxi is able to create a collaborative and personalized treatment plan for her clients. Moreover, her extensive training and working experience in various settings, including university, NGO, and private practices, have equipped her with a diverse skill set to address a wide range of mental health concerns, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, trauma, identity issues, family or intimate relationships, and cultural adaptation. Jiaxi speaks fluent English, Mandarin, and Cantonese, making her a great fit for clients from diverse backgrounds.
Central to Jiaxi’s therapeutic approach is the belief that a collaborative and trustworthy therapeutic alliance is inherently healing. Through her warm and nonjudgmental demeanor, Jiaxi creates a safe and supportive space where clients can feel fully accepted and understood. In addition to alleviating distress, Jiaxi empowers her clients by helping them gain insight into the root causes of their concerns. By exploring the formation and development of their psychological minds, individuals are able to develop a deeper understanding of themselves.
